Tehran, February 5, 2024 (MRUD NEWS)—Eight projects will be inaugurated at Mehrabad International Airport during the 45th anniversary of Islamic Revolution in Iran amounting to 1500 billion IRR.
According to the Director General of Mehrabad International Airport, Ebrahim Moradi, the most important project to be operated in the 'decade of dawn' between 1 and 11 February is the opening of the first 3D simulator of the control tower of Mehrabad International Airport, which is designed by a knowledge-based company in cooperation with the airport's experts after 80 years of the establishment of this airport.
Pointing to the opening of the mental health center at Mehrabad International Airport, Moradi said: "For the first time in the aviation industry, the first mental health center will be opened with an official license from the Psychological and Counseling Organization of Iran upon recommendations of ICAO, IFALPA and IFATCA with the aim of managing the stress caused by accidents and critical conditions. This center provides services to the general public and travelers".
He further informed of the opening of 6 projects for rehabilitation, safety and improvement of services at Mehrabad International Airport during these ten days. One of the most important projects is the rehabilitation of the roof of Terminal 4 as the busiest terminal of the Airport while this terminal was operating.
Moradi pointed to the project of equipping multi-storey car parks and terminals 1 and 2 of Mehrabad International Airport with fire alarm systems and extinguishing amounting to 600 billion IRR.
Referring to the projects for the security and upgrading the airport's data center, the Director General of Mehrabad International Airport said: the telecommunication data center was upgraded to protect against cyber-attacks. This is considered a mega project it was managed at nights and during the airport's off-peak hours without any disruption.
Among other projects is the rehabilitation of the fire station's floor using polymer concrete with a height of one centimeter and a 10-year warranty to reduce depreciation of the equipment implemented by an Iranian company.
Additionally, to provide more public spaces for the well-being of people and passengers inside the terminals, all commercial spaces were moved elsewhere accessible to the general public, Moradi reminded.
Also, the offices of airline companies in Terminal 1 have been moved to the entrance hall and in Terminal 2 to the mezzanine in which in total reduced 700 square meters from the commercial spaces of the terminals and were made available to the public, the director general of Mehrabad International Airport further added.
Referring to Mehrabad International Airport flight services, the Director General of Mehrabad International Airport said there are between 350 to 400 flights a day in this airport, which shows performance improvement compared to the past.
